Recumbent Cycle Touring Shorts
The Ex Officio Amphi Shorts make remarkably nice recumbent shorts. They are light, well made , and have a soft finish. These quick drying shorts were made for water but work fine on a recumbent.

There had been heavy rain the day before and the weather forecast was not promising but 30,000 riders showed up for what turned out to be a pretty good day.
The Tour de Ile de Montreal is a 48K or 32 mile ride around the city of Montreal. The streets are closed to cars and all types of riders come out. Bikes and riders range from High End Racing Bikes to City Beaters.
Many people on old bikes with city clothes rode with the strength of seasoned bike commuters. We were amazed by the number of small children who rode the whole route on their own bikes. There are three rest stops along the way. This is more of a bike parade than ride although except at bottle necks the group rode along at 12 MPH.
The organization was amazing, I have never seen an event this big go so well. They had 3000 volunteers filled with enthusiasm. They guided you along the route and at bottle necks there was entertainment. These folks really know how to run a major event. This is the equipment list I made up a few years ago for for Touring with my Ryan Vanguard. It inclued some special tools needed to make common adjustments on the Vanguard.
Here's my new list updated for riding in the Northwest on a Longbikes Slipstream in 2006,
The biggest changes are updating technology, eliminating SAE Allen wrenches, and self sealing tubes for riding in thorn country.
