2008 Montreal Bicycle Festival – World’s Largest Bicycle Ride

 

I am making plans now to be in Montreal June 1 for the 2008 Bicycle Festival. I missed last year’s ride but was there in 2006, this is an amazing event. My wife loves the feeling of festival. This event draws all kinds of riders and lots of them over 35,000 most years. But despite the amazing number of riders it is a low stress and easy to attend event. The organizers do an amazing job. They close the streets to cars and open the parks up as rest stops for this ride that circles the City.

You can travel with your bike to the event on the subway if you aren’t staying downtown but the ferries won’t be running early enough to get you there for the start. There is also a lot of parking near the start if you are coming in by car.
