Tent and Rolled Tire

Finding a good place to pack spare tires for a self contained tour is always a problem. here's an approach that I stumbled on when I couldn't find a folding version of the tire I needed for my trip this summer.

The tire usually arrives rolled when you buy it on line. here's a picture of the rolled tire and my tent. If your tire isn't rolled just form it into loops big enough to slip over your tent and then bind it with wire ties or tape (see Jobst Brandt for Instructions on How to Fold a Non-Folding Tire).

Then slip the tire over the end on the tent nearest the bike seat and lash the tent to the bike rack.
