Slipstream with Crank Brothers Eggbeater Pedals

Note: This part 3 of a series of posts. The previous post was “First Impressions – Eggbeater Clipless Pedals with Shimano MT20D Shoes“.

Today was a much better ride but at the end a very frustrating day.

It started with some MM adjustments of the cleat locations. These small adjustments made a tremendous difference in foot comfort. I was able to comfortable ride the first 20 miles of a 30 mile ride.

During the ride I stopped and made small adjustments to the cleat position 5 times. Some adjustments were better but towards the end of the ride every adjustment seemed to make things worse.

Comfort was much improved but still not close to where it needs to be. Ending a 30 mile ride with sore feet is better but not close to the comfortable 125 mile ride I am used to with PowerGrips and sandals. I don’t expect my feet to hurt at the end of a ride.

I will keep playing with cleat position and looking at other shoes for a while.

Conclusion: Better but still not close to acceptable Comfort
