Recumbent Cycling Shorts – $19.95

with one comment

Aero Tech Designs sells a plain but serviceable Recumbent Cycling Short for $19.95. These are 84% nylon and 16% Spandex compression shorts for men and women. They have no features except 7.6 oz. fabric that is light and comfortable. Don’t look for a tie string or a pocket. They also have no annoying padding and pack very small. You do have four colors to pick from but I always buy black.

Aero Tech also make a baggy recumbent cycling short and a unpadded bicycling short but the prices are not as a attractive.

These are not my favorites but they are a well made if plain short at a reasonable price. They do the job and save you some money.

Reference: Unfortunately I can no longer find my favorite short , Craft Trail Fitness Shorts (For Men), at a reasonable price.

  1. Roland,
We were just searching Google on “recumbent cycling” and came across your blog. I was impressed with all of the topics that you cover and expect to be back often to see what’s new. We would also like to put a link to your blog on ours too – if that’s ok?

I also noticed that you keep an eye on the clothing scene too – so we thought we’d let you know that we have launched a line of recumbent-specific clothing this summer. We are now carried in three large recumbent shops in the USA and have been selling on-line to Norway, Sweden, France, Netherlands, Japan and the USA.

Just like the shorts you reviewed above the RG shorts have been manufactured without “annoying padding ” -but they do have a chafe-resistant liner instead to make them more comfortable

Here’s what one rider said about them: “Received my Reverse Gear shorts Friday and got a chance to try them out on a ride Sunday. Very comfortable, nice feeling fabric, good fit. It was a warm sunny day and the shorts ventilated very well.”

So we hope you get a chance to check them out in the near future. And BTW – the jerseys have the pockets in the front – where recumbent riders can easily access them.

We are always looking for feedback on what the market wants so please send us any ideas based on your extensive experience.
